A Bitchin 80th B-Day in Cancun!

Okay, I gotta admit, I never thought I’d live to 80.  Hell, I figured 35, maybe 50 tops.  But eighty?

But here I was, March 10 I actually made it!

To help me celebrate I was joined by my wife of 30 years, Jody, My youngest daughter Katie & her husband Will, with my youngest grandchild, Catalina Jane (2 years old), along with my oldest granddaughter, Tabitha and her husband Rutger, Along with Jody’s sister Anna and Husband Richard, my nephew Eric & Michele who live aboard in Florida.

In all it was a great week.  The El Cid Marina and Resort has been a place we have escaped to for many years.  In fact we used to throw New Years Eve Parties for cruiser’s here back in the early 2000’s.. It’s been our home-away-from-home ever since.  It’s the safest harbor on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, and the staff are friendly and helpful, Specially if you are there on your boat.

But I digress.  Along with the photos, my granddaughter Tabitha created a video for the event.  It run’s about 30 minutes, and I don’t know if you’ll enjoy it, but I sure did!

Now all I gotta do is figure out if I want to go to 90 or not!  LOL!!!

  1. Happy birthday Bob:

You have inspired me much of my life. From bikes in the 1970’s to sailing in the 80’s and beyond. I am here on my boat, Afterglow, anchored at Little Farmers Cay, Exumas in no small part thanks to you. We only met for a quick handshake yearly at Annapolis but that handshake meant a lot to me. Again, happy Birthday

  2. Hey Bro! I tried to send a video… But couldn’t manage to send it… Makes sense I guess. The video was great! I was delighted to see Major’s picture. He was a great dog. Remember telling Mom and Dad “Major did it” whenever you, me, or Al wouldn’t admit we did it? Love you “Treb” — “ytteb” aka Betty Bitchin
