Laurie Davidson Designed – Bent Jespersen Built Deck Salon Cruising Yacht

Rarely, very rarely does a yacht like this become available on the market. There are special boats in this world, “Silver Cloud” is one of these boats.

Conceived by her orginal owner as “The ultimate high performance 50′ sailing yacht with a cruising interior” he went to Laurie Davidson for the design.

He then went to Bent Jespersen Boat Boat Builders in Sidney, BC to have her built. Laurie, Don Martin (of the Martin 242 fame) and Bent Jespersen collaborated to create one of the most beautiful, fast and extemely well built sailing yachts of her time.

The end result is: she’s still beautiful, she’still fast and her build quality has stood the test of time.

Her original owner was not able to finish her. She was sold an an American couple who finished the build out and choose the Ballenger fractional rig. She was launched in 1986. They lived aboard and sailed the Pacific NW and BC for several years.

Her next owner approached her with a open check book and optimized her for short handed long distance cruising.

“Silver Cloud’s” current owners are very experienced sailors with many boats behind them and years of experience. Her current owner/captain says this about this yacht: “A Comfortable Cruiser With The Heart of a Thoroughbred” Time has come for them to let go and another couple or individual take possession of her.

Few boats in her size range can out perform her, fewer will outshine her in an anchorage, at the dock or out sailing. Even fewer will be more comfortable for a single hander, couple or family. Her warm, rich interior is comfortable even on the wettest winter days in the NW or BC Coast. She is an excellent choice for cruising to Alaska. Take her south to warmer temperatures and she has the ventilation and insulation to stand the “South of the Boarder” climate.

To build this boat today, you would spend more than a Million dollars.

For the price, you will not find a better boat, better deal or get more satisfaction out of any choice you may have.

If you have been looking and waiting for the right boat to come along, call us. “Silver Cloud” is worthy of a personal inspection and you will not be disappointed.
