Simple Security For Home, Boat, RV & more!

We live way the hell out in the Sierra Nevadas. Remote enough that if someone knocks on the door, chances are they’re either lost, crazy, or both. Out here, security isn’t just some fancy add-on—it’s survival.

Years back I stumbled on the Wuloo Security System. Four little pieces: a couple motion detectors and a doorbell, all battery and solar powered. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated. Just a solid little rig that let us know when someone came creeping up the driveway or near the house. It worked, every damn time. We came to depend on it.

Having lived on a boat for over three decades, I couldn’t help thinking how slick this setup would’ve been on board. All 12-volt and solar? Hell, that’s cruiser gold. And not just boats—RVs, trailers, campers, you name it.

Fast-forward to last month. I hear Wuloo’s got a new system—a bigger, badder six-piece version. I checked out their site (www.wulooofficial.com) and ordered it right away. When it showed up, installation was laughably easy. Took me less than an hour, and that includes cracking a beer halfway through.

Here’s the deal: this new Wuloo system is designed to tell you when someone—or something—is coming into your space. It’s got a third-mile range from sensor to base unit, which is pretty damn impressive. I’ve been running it on our tree-lined driveway through rain, snow, and critters galore, and it hasn’t skipped a beat. The weatherproof motion sensors can be set for high, medium, or low, and they’ll pick up movement from about 30 feet out.

What’s in the box? Two motion sensors, two wireless door alarms, and a waterproof doorbell with its own adjustable tone. The sensors and alarms are wireless, so slap ‘em wherever you want—doors, hatches, companionways, you name it. The receiver’s the brains of the whole thing. It doubles as a clock and alarm, and you can tweak the chimes, sounds, and volume so you know exactly what’s happening and where.

Everything’s rechargeable and expandable. The solar sensors hold a charge for up to two years, and you can add up to eight more sensors if you want to cover more ground. Best part? You can dial the sensitivity so leaves and raccoons don’t set the damn thing off all night.

I had the whole setup installed and running in under an hour, and I’m no tech wizard. If I can do it, anyone can.

So if you’re living remote, cruising, or just want some peace of mind wherever you’re parked, I can honestly recommend the Wuloo Solar Security System. Simple, solid, and it works.
